Médecins Sans Frontières are now seeking for its Banten Project a highly qualified candidate to fill in the position of:  Community Health Promotion/Education Officer - Labuan Based

Main Responsibility

Implement Health Promotion/IEC activities with adolescents in health facility, schools, community and the local population to raise their knowledge and skills on relevant medical topics related to adolescent health. Identify and/or encourage community (youth) groups that can assist in the IEC programs. Identify and analyzed community health gaps and health seeking behavior. Ensuring that MSF youth corner give proper IEC materials to the adolescent. Ensuring timely referral to the health facility for health needs.

Tasks and responsibilities

Inform patients and communities about MSF and services it provides.  Deliver information to the patients and community on adolescent health topics.  Implement IEC activities on health and awareness (sessions in schools, health centers, community and youth corner) under the indications and supervision of the MAM.  Under the guide of the MAM, assess the impact of activities (with questions, verifications and behaviors observations), and report problems, success and constraints to him/her.  Collect all type of information related to specific health and living conditions of the population, in particular to identify the most vulnerable populations to target. Report to MAM: activities, problems mets, strengths and constraints. Establish and maintain contacts with social partners, village leaders, including local community groups that can provide answers to social problems. Actively participate in creation of any new and innovative material needed for the activities of information, education and communication.

Requirements
Education	Education level in public health, social science, social communication, or teaching
Experience	Desirable experience in Community Mobilization and/or Community Field Work Desirable two years previous experience in community work in the field and/or in a humanitarian agencies or other NGOs
Languages	Knowledge of other local language is desirable (aside from Bahasa Indonesia) and Basic Proficiency in English is a must
Knowledge	Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet)

Médecins Sans Frontières are now seeking for its Banten Project a highly qualified candidate to fill in the position of  Midwife Labuan Base.

Main Responsibility

Provide skilled based-training and assist in technical supervision on obstetric related topics and care to pregnant women and their babies especially for the adolescent.  Assist in collaboration with the Midwife in the health centers on the follow up before, during and after delivery, according to the National Standard and MSF obstetrical and reproductive health protocols, universal hygiene and newborn care standards, in order to ensure health conditions and avoid post-delivery complications. Ensuring monitoring and evaluation of midwives on skills and quality of services provided in the health facilities.

Tasks and responsibilities:

Ensure the transfer of knowledge on the quality of services in the implementation and continuity of antenatal and postnatal care, family planning, obstetrical care (BEmONC), neonatal and management and diagnosis of reproductive tract infections in close collaboration with the medical doctor.  Collaborate with the medical doctor and /or nurse in the management of Sexual Gender Based Violence cases Assess and ensure the referral of pregnant adolescent women from the community to the health centers for medical evaluation and/or complicated deliveries and referral to the CeMoNC facility. Ensure hygiene and sterilization criteria (including universal precautions) are met according to National standard and MSF specifications. Assist in ensuring that a regular and ongoing system for the supply of drugs and equipment are available for maternity activities which will include monitoring, consumption control and ordering. Ensure that proper follow up of all newborn babies are being done from delivery until discharge, giving proper information to mothers and relatives about importance of breast feeding, vaccination and possible complications resulting from harmful traditional practices. Ensure patients’ right to privacy and confidentiality is respected Active participation with the midwives in the health centers in the organisation of the ward to ensure transfer of relevant information to the next shift team (specially identifying risk cases)

Kami mencari 8 tenaga asisten peneliti lapangan dengan pengalaman melakukan riset dengan metode etnografi. Mereka akan berpartisipasi dalam sebuah proyek penelitian yang didukung oleh Nasional Science Foundation, dengan topik “Labor Migration and Effects of Remittances and Commodity Enclosures on Industrial Agricultural and Forest Landscapes.” Setiap asisten peneliti lapangan akan bekerja di salah satu dari empat lokasi riset yang berada di Sumatera Utara, Jawa Timur, Sulawesi Tenggara, dan Kalimantan Barat. Asisten peneliti lapangan akan bekerja dengan dan berkontribusi pada suatu penelitian yang interdisiplin yang dikoordinir oleh Dr. Nancy L. Peluso (University of California, Berkeley), serta termasuk Dr. Kimberly Carlson (University of Hawaii-Manoa), Dr. Lisa Kelley (University of Hawaii-Manoa), dan Suraya Afiff (Universitas Indonesia).

Asisten peneliti akan melakukan penelitian etnografi dan atau melakukan wawancara mendalam dan survey di lokasi yang relatif terpencil di pedesaan. Dua asisten peneliti untuk setiap lokasi penelitian akan bekerja mengumpulkan data lapangan dan menulis laporan selama paling sedikit 4 bulan per tahun dalam rentang waktu 3 tahun total waktu proyek penelitian (2018-2020). Proyek penelitian akan menggunakan pendekatan ekologi politik, dan para asisten peneliti lapangan bertugas mengumpulkan informasi tentang pemanfaatan lahan, tenaga kerja, dan life histories dari para migran yang pulang, serta dari para keluarga petani dengan dan tanpa anggota keluarga yang pergi bermigrasi, termasuk pula dari pemerintah, dan lembaga-lembaga nonpemerintah lainnya. Riset ini bermaksud menjawab tiga pertanyaaan penelitian utama tentang hubungan antara tenaga kerja migran, pemanfaatan lahan, dan pengaturan tenurial lahan di pedesaan yang berada di sekitar perusahaan perkebunan dan kehutanan skala besar:
1. Bagaimana perusahaan perkebunan dan kehutanan skala besar mempengaruhi tingkat dan pola dari migrasi tenaga kerja di komunitas sekitarnya?
2. Bagaimana migrasi tenaga kerja merubah pembagian kerja dalam rumah tangga dan kontrol atas sumberdaya di pemukiman agraris disekeliling konsesi-konsesi besar?
3. Bagaimana remitansi dan pola-pola baru dari kontrol sumberdaya oleh rumah tangga dari tenaga kerja migran selanjutkan menghasilkan efek pada pemanfaatan lahan dan tutupan lahan di lansekap pedesaan yang didominasi oleh konsesi komoditi skala besar.

Asisten peneliti lapangan diharapkan bersedia untuk menghabiskan waktunya, tinggal, dan bekerja di lokasi penelitian di pedesaan di dalam dan sekitar konsesi perusahaan skala besar. Kami mencari individu yang memiliki keingintahuan yang besar, memiliki kemampuan pengorganisasian yang baik, kemampuan bekerja mandiri, dan kemampuan berkomunikasi baik lisan dan tertulis, dan memiliki perhatian pada hal-hal detail dalam penelitian. Mereka haruslah individu yang mudah bergaul dengan orang-orang yang beragam tingkat dari mulai kepala desa hingga pegawai kabupaten dan masyarakat desa umumnya. Sebagai tambahan dari pendekatan etnografi, asisten peneliti lapangan harus bersedia melakukan perjalanan cukup banyak, tidak tertutup kemungkinan dengan berjalan kaki, untuk mengumpulkan data-data landskap sekeliling tempat penelitiannya secara berkala. Meskipun ketika bekerja asisten peneliti lapangan tidak selalu akan didampingi oleh peneliti utama, mereka akan mendapatkan pelatihan terkait metodologi yang relevan sebagaimana diperlukan. Asisten peneliti lapangan juga akan mendapatkan pendampingan secara profesional dan dukungan dari rekan peneliti utama dari proyek riset ini di setiap lokasi.

Para peminat untuk posisi ini diharapkan untuk memasukkan surat aplikasi, yang dilampiri oleh sejumlah dokumen sebagai berikut:
