Qatar Charity is a Qatar-based NGO. Since the inception of its services in Indonesia in 2006, the Organization has been committed to assist the needy and less supported people all over Indonesia. The Organization is active in providing assistance in the following domains; Education & Cultural Support, Family, Women & Child care, Livelihoods & Income Generation, Water & Sanitation, Relief & Emergency Response and last but not least Seasonal Programs.. After the tragedy tsunami disaster in 2004, Qatar Charity has made a considerable contribution to the efforts of reconstruction and rehabilitation in the affected areas.
Qatar Charity Indonesia (QCI) is currently seeking:
· Position: Head of Project – Makassar Area
· Report to: Country Director
· Contract length: 01 year(include 3 months probation)
· Duty Station: Makasar, Sulawesi Selatan Province
Qualifications and experience
· A bachelor‘s degree in civil engineeringfrom an accredited University.
· Minimum 10 (ten) years experience of working in related field.
· Able to write and speak in English is a must.
· Able to use relevant computer technology.
Key Competencies required
· Communication: Sound drafting ability, particularly in preparing reports that are clear and concise and intelligible; good interpersonal skills; good communication skills and good presentation skills.
· Planning and organizing: Good planning and organization of own work.
· Teamwork: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues with different national and cultural backgrounds with respect for diversity;
· Client Orientation: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with government officials from developing countries, donors and other external collaborators.
· Leadership: Creativity, vision and innovation—skill in overseeing work of less senior staff and external consultants undertaking report-writing or technical cooperation activities
Responsibilities:
· Develop operational plan/strategy for the assigned project
· Develop and coordinate work plans with contractors for the assigned project
· Support and monitor the assigned project(s) through regular communications and program visits and ensure that program as per partner agreements are being fulfilled.
· Evaluate all proposals from partners or other side and estimate the real needs.
· Survey with partners and ensure with program department for the ideal selecting for next impact and outcome.
· Ensure that all schedule contractors and project progress reports (program) are delivered timely and are in good quality, according to QCI standards, and donors requirements, analyze the received information and compile the necessary reports.
· Maintain the database and regularly update project documentation/files for reference by all concerned.
· Manage Finance/admin procedures and file/document all relevant financial/admin documents pertaining to the project and field office activities.
· Work on and maintain a good working relationship with project contractors.
· Guide project contractors, give capacity building training and give direction so that they improve on quality of work, efficiency, effectiveness of the desired outputs and sustainability of results.
· Make sure the contractors take into account the protection of children, women and environment during the implementation.
· Give technical opinion in evaluation of contractors for every project.
· Member of tender commission in QCI and give all the technical opinion.
· Preparing projects with BOQ and all necessary drawing and documentation.
· When requested, perform other duties as deemed relevant by the Country Director.
